Bontrager XR2 Tubeless Ready Team Tire

Bontrager's 120tpi XR2 Tubeless Ready Team Tire is a lightweight, fast rolling XC tire for loose over hardpack and loamy conditions. The closely spaced center area rolls easily, while the open side knobs keep the weight down and give you predictable traction when leaning into turns. Add your favorite tubeless sealant (sold separately) for great low-pressure traction and pinch-flat protection and save a few grams in the process.

      Comments:

These tires came stock on my Trek Fuel EX 8. At first, I was intrigued because of their design. Truthfully, they are horrible all the way around. The have NO grip whatsoever when cornering, they feel too squirrly at speed and they lack that "oomph" that creates confidence. I tried differing tire pressures, swapping directions all to no avail. In fact, most people I know who had these tires swapped them out before too long. Certainly not Bontrager's finest.

        Comments:

A light tire, sheds mud easily, stands up to abuse fairly well. I expected more from Bontrager though; this tire does not corner well at all, is useless in any sand and does not inspire confidence in any loose terrain. After 400 miles (adjusting tire pressures, etc) I said the heck with it and went with a different tire. The switch was awesome from the beginning! Goodbye XR2
